Nagpur ACB arrested superintendent of PF office & police constable in 24 hours for demanding bribe
Nagpur : NpNews24 Online – Nagpur ACB | The Nagpur Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) succeeded in arresting the superintendent of provident fund office and also a police constable within 24 hours for demanding bribes. Due to the action of ACB, there has been a fear in the mind of bribe takers now. (Nagpur ACB)
The provident fund office superintendent Pramod Jhangoji Sontakke (53) was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe when the Nagpur ACB team laid a trap in PF office. A retired principal has complained that Rs 13.30 lakh earned as a PF by him was withheld. In order to get the PF money the complainant had applied several times in the PF office, but the accused Sontakke demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant. The accused agreed to take Rs 40,000 as a bribe after the compromise. The principal complained about this to Nagpur ACB. After verification, the team laid the trap on Wednesday, October 18. Sontakke was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from the complainant. A case has been registered against him.
Police constable Sheikh Jameel Shaikh Mehboob (55) a resident of Nehru Colony, Pension Nagar was caught red-handed by the ACB team while accepting a bribe of Rs 3000. Mehbood demanded Rs 5,000 from the complainant to get him out of the accident case and the final amount was settled at Rs 3000. The complainant complained to Nagpur ACB and accordingly they laid a trap and arrested the accused while accepting a bribe of Rs 3000. The Nagpur ACB has registered a case against Mehboob.
