“Today is a historic day for Puneites. The first step towards Bhide Wada becoming a national memorial has been taken. As a guardian minister, I was making continuous efforts that Bhide Wada should become a national memorial. After the funds were made available by the state government, I had met Advocate General Birendra Saraf in the first week of January.
During the meeting, Patil had given information about the state government’s approach towards the issue and requested Saraf to effectively present the case of the state government in the SC. Accordingly, the HC ruled in favour of the civic body and issued orders that a national memorial should be built at the Bhide Wada. Soon, Bhide Wada will become a national memorial and I thank all Puneites for this, said Chandrakant Patil in a tweet.
