Pune Drug Case: 3 kg gold seized from drug racket accused Abhishek Balkawade’s residence
PUNE: NpNews24 Online The Pune Police Crime Branch has arrested Bhushan Anil Patil, brother of drug smuggler Lalit Patil who had escaped from police custody at the Sassoon Hospital and his aide Abhishek Vilas Balkawade from the Nepal border. After being brought to Pune, the court remanded them in police custody. Meanwhile, the police searched Balkawade’s residence at Nashik and found three kg gold. The police have seized the gold, said a senior police officer. (Pune Police Crime)
The seizure of a large quantity of gold has created a flutter. An investigation by the police has revealed that the gold was going to be used for aiding their escape. Meanwhile, it has come to light that Abhishek Balkawade had purchased the gold by selling drugs. Lalit Patil and Balkawade had met and CCTV footage about their meeting is available.
