Pune: The incumbent MP, the candidate of Mahavikas Aaghadi for Shirur Lok Sabha Constituency, Dr. Amol Kolhe, once again targeted the Modi government over its recent decision to lift the government ban on onion export. He lambasted the government, saying, If the Modi government is only concerned about the farmers in Gujrat, then the government should go only to Gujrat to seek votes.

Kolhe is on a visit to Shirur Taluka today. On this occasion, Devdutt Nikam, Shekhar Pachundkar, Swapnil Gaikwad, Damu Ghode, Shankar Jambhalkar, and other dignitaries were present with him.

While speaking at this time, Kolhe slammed the Modi government for its Gujrat-centric approach. He said, “Gujrat has fewer onion-producing farmers compared to Maharashtra. In spite of that, the central government lifted the export ban on 2 thousand tonnes of onions only to help farmers in Gujarat.” He said that this decision has shown that the Modi government is only concerned about the interests of the onion farmers in Gujarat.

Kolhe further added, “Our onions have been selling in the market at a cheaper price. This government is conspiring to suppress farmers.” He also said that this government cares nothing about the farmers.

At this time, he also summoned the government, saying, “If you are only concerned about the farmers of Gujrat, then go to Gujrat only to seek votes.” Kolhe strongly opposed the Modi government’s decisions at this time.
