Pune Crime News: Woman threatened, blackmailed by creating fake Instagram account
Pune: NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | fakeInstagram account was created using a woman’s name and photo. She was then threatened that her photos and videos would be made viral. Then ransom was demanded from her. A case of fraud and extortion was registered against an unidentified persons at the Chatuhshrungi Police Station in this regard. (Pune Crime News)
A 35-year-old woman lodged a complaint in this regard on Monday. The unidentified accused has been booked under sections 420, 419, 384 of the IPC and the IT Act. The incident took place between Sunday and Monday.
According to the police, the accused created an Instagram account by using the name and a photo of the complainant by concealing his own identity. Then he threatened her that he would post her photos and videos on that account. He also demanded a ransom of Rs 10,000 from her. After realising that a fake account was opened in her name, she approached the police.
