Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests police officer for taking 2,500 rupee bribe

AURANGABAD: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – In a shocking incident at Aurangabad’s city chowk police station, a police officer has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking the bribe of 2,500 rupees.

the name of the police officer is Sunil Narayan Jahagirdar (48). The incident took place on Tuesday at 9 pm. 33 year old sand businessman registered a complaint with ACB.

The sand businessman’s trucks of travel from the jurisdiction of  City chowk police station. Police officer asked bribe of 3,500 to the businessman to allow his trucks travel from his jurisdiction. After negotiation he let go the businessman’s truck after taking the bribe of 2,500.

After that the businessman went to the ACB to get his complaint registered against the police officer of city chowk police station. After that the ACB set a trap to catch the police officer red handed.

This action was taken by the Police Deputy Superintendent Nitin Deshmukh and Police Sub Inspector Ravindra Nikalje with ACB.

Anti-Corruption Bureau, Maharashtra is an agency of Government of Maharashtra constituted to investigate offences of bribery and corruption falling within the purview of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in the state of Maharashtra.
