Hadapsar Accused Raped and Defamed Minor Girl Posting Nude Photos on Instagram; Police Booked Under POCSO

Pune: A startling incident has been revealed from the Kalepadal area of Hadapsar, where a 20-year-old young man cunningly maintained physical relations with the minor girl by promising her marriage and further defaming her by posting her nude photo on social media. In this regard, a 17-year-old victim girl filed a complaint against the accused at Hadapsar police station on Wednesday, April 17.

The accused has been identified as Shubham Baban Rathod, and he is a resident of the Kalepadal area of Hadapsar. As per the complaint filed by the victim, Shubham and she initially met on Instagram. After a little acquaintance, both started talking to each other. Taking advantage of that, Shubham trapped the victim in his love trap by threatening her to harm himself.

After that, both started dating each other. However, shockingly, one day, the accused invited the victim to his house and maintained physical relations with her, promising her marriage. However, the accused did not keep his promise.

When the victim asked him about marriage, the accused stopped talking to her. Meanwhile, the accused had secretly taken pictures of the victim girl while she was having physical relations. On April 11, the accused defamed the victim by posting her nude photos on Instagram. As soon as the victim realised this, she rushed to the Hadapsar police station and lodged a complaint.

Accordingly, police registered a case against Shubham Rathod under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 506, the POCSO Act, and the Atrocities Act. Police have registered a case of sexual assault and atrocity against Shubham and started an investigation. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Umesh Rokde.
