On Children’s Day, fire erupts in government kids play school

PUNE : NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- In a bizarre incident, on the occasion of children’s day when small kids had gathered for a function organized in the school, a massive fire broke out in a government owned kid’s play school.

The fire broke out in a play school named ‘Ekatmik Baal Vikas Seva Yojana’ (Anganwadi) on Wednesday at around 11 am in the morning  when small kids around eight of them had gathered in the premises for a program to be celebrated on children’s day.

According to a leading fireman of Pune, from the control room, “At around 11 am we got a call from the play school based in dhankawadi that a fire has erupted. Immediately four vehicles of fire brigade were sent to the spot. After continuous efforts for half an hour the team was finally able to doze off the fire.”

He added, “The fire erupted due to short circuit such is a probability. When we reached, until we could control the fire it was late as the benches, books, etc in the classrooms had burnt down, although no loss of life has been reported as the children went to their respective homes on Diwali vacations and more than half of the population of students was luckily not present during the eruption.”

Also, according to DN Nagalkar, Assistant Divisional Officer of fire department , “Only 8 children gathered there for the program of children’s day as rest went home for Diwali. Although they were rescued out safely and there was no life loss. We took control of the fire after which the three cars returned back.”

The school authorities should thank their lucky stars that no damage of life was reported or would have been a serious issue as only few of the students gathered at the school premises to be a part of the function.
