Pune: Accused Young Man Booked Under POCSO for Alleged Rape of Minor Girl

Pune: A 20-year-old young man allegedly took advantage of his friendship with a minor girl and raped her. This incident took place in December 2023 in a building in the Kothrud area. In this regard, a case has been registered against a 20-year-old youth under the POCSO Act.

An 18-year-old girl lodged a complaint at Kothrud police station on Friday, April 19. According to the police information, the accused, Sahil Anil Sable (20), a resident of Kothrud and an original native of Solapur, and the complainant are friends of each other and study at the same college.

In the month of December, the accused took the plaintiff to a building near the college on the pretence of talking to her. After that, he proposed to the plaintiff, saying he loved her so much and could not live without her. When the plaintiff refused him and started going from there, the accused mistreated her.

The plaintiff complained that, in spite of knowing that she was juvenile, the accused forcibly maintained sexual relations with her. Shockingly, he also threatened the girl to kill and defame her if she told anyone about it. After that, the girl filed a police complaint against the accused at Kothrud police station on Friday.

Kothrud police booked the accused under IPC 376 and 506 and also booked him under the stringent POSCO Act. Now, police sub-inspector Pawar is conducting further investigation into the case.
