Pune: Swargate Police Uncover Vehicle Theft Ring, Recover Stolen Items Worth Rs 2 Lakh

Pune: Swargate police have successfully nabbed the culprits who were stealing the vehicles and snatching the mobile phone from the passengers in the crowded places. In this crackdown, Swargate Police revealed a total of four crimes of vehicle theft from the accused and seized the total number of items worth Rs 2 lakh.

There has been an increase in cases of forcibly snatching the mobile phones of passengers in the Swargate Bus Stand area. Therefore, in order to trace the accused, the investigation team of the Swargate police station kept watch in the area with the help of CCTV cameras. In the subsequent action, the Swargate police team detained an accused, Rajendra Parameshwar Kadam, from the premises.

A 24-year-old Kadam is a resident of Laxminagar, Ambedkar Colony, Parvati, and is working as a provider of sand cement. During the investigation, Swargate police confiscated two bikes from him and one bike from the other minor accused detained in this case.

Similarly, police also detained Saad Sher Ali Shaikh and Uday Sunil Jadhav, who came at high speed on a two-wheeler and snatched people’s mobile phones by force. In this action, the Swargate police seized four two-wheelers and one mobile worth Rs 2,10,000 from them. Police also brought four crimes in this regard to light.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police, West Regional Division Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police Nandini Vagyani, Senior Police Inspector Dilip Phulpagare, and Police Inspector Crime Geeta Bagwade, by the team of Assistant Police Inspector Prashant Sande, Police Sub-Inspector Ashok Yewle, Police Constable Suraj Pawar, Somnath Kamble, Deepak Khendad, Anis Shaikh, Shiva Gaikwad, Feroze Shaikh, Sandeep Ghule, Ramesh Chavan, and Pravin Godse.
