Pune: Shocking Sexual Assault of Minor Leads to Her Pregnancy; Accused Booked Under POCSO Act by Kondhwa Police

Pune: A 17-year-old girl from Kondhwa was sexually assaulted by a young man who enticed her with a fake marriage proposal. This shocking incident has come to light after a minor girl was found pregnant. The police complaint was lodged against the accused in a given case.

According to the police, a 23-year-old young man identified as Sameer Shaikh alias Sonu, a resident of Shivnerinagar, Kondhwa Khurd, lured a 17-year-old girl from Kondhwa and promised her marriage. By gaining her trust, the accused maintained physical relations with her, despite having a clear idea about her age.

As per the complaint, the accused repeatedly raped the minor girl by coming to her house when she was alone. This incident took place between April and June 2023 in the house of the victim girl. This incident was revealed after a minor girl was found pregnant. Shockingly, when the accused learned about this, he threatened to kill the minor girl if she told anyone about it.

After that, the victim girl lodged a complaint against the accused at Kondhwa police station on Thursday, March 28. Accordingly, police booked the accused under IPC 376/2/N and 506 and also invoked the stringent POCSO Act against him. Kondhwa Police are conducting further investigation into it.
