Pune: Lonikand Police Nab Four Accused in Late-Night Robbery Case from Wagholi

Pune: A person who was going to his home after the office was targeted in a robbery by a few individuals who robbed him of his possessions on March 25. The accused individuals came on two bikes and robbed the individual at knifepoint on the pretext of asking for an address.

This incident transpired on March 25 at around 3 a.m. in front of the Blue Inn Hotel in Khandvenagar, Wagholi. In this regard, Lonikand police swiftly responded to the distress call of the victim and detained all four accused.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Nitin Dinesh Bhutia (31, a resident of Bhimnagar, BT Kawde Road, Pune), Vikas Suresh Waghri (22, a resident of Shivajinagar), Rahul Anand Waghri (28, a resident of Mithanagar, Kondhwa) and Rahul Santosh Waghri (age-20, a resident of Jejuri).

The police conducted this action after plaintiff Sukhdev Nimbalkar lodged a complaint regarding it at Lonikand Police Station. According to the police, the plaintiff was stopped on the road opposite the Blue Inn Hotel in Khandvenagar, Wagholi, to go home. At that time, a few individuals approached the plaintiff on bikes and asked him the route towards Yerawada.

When the plaintiff was guiding them regarding the route, the accused got off their bikes and assaulted the plaintiff. They further robbed him at knifepoint and fled away by taking Rs 1300 and his mobile phone from his pocket. When the plaintiff cried for help, the nearby citizens and police bravely chased the accused and detained them.

The Lonikand police have booked all the accused under IPC 394, 34, and detained them in jail. Further investigation in this regard is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Thorve.
