PSI, constable walk into ACB trap

Aurangabad : NpNews24 Online  – Aurangabad ACB Tap | A police sub-inspector (PSI) and a policeman of Shivajinagar police station in Beed were caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Aurangabad while accepting the remaining Rs.15,000 out of a bribe of Rs 30,000, of which Rs 10,000 were already taken to help an accused in a criminal case. The ACB took this action on Monday. The names of the two policemen who were caught taking bribes are PSI Raju Bhanudas Gaikwad (53) and police constable Vikas Sarjerao Yamgar. PSI Raju Gaikwad and police constable Vikas Yamgar demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 to help the complainant in the case registered against him. After a compromise, they settled for Rs 25,000. The complainant paid the first installment of Rs.10,000. Gaikwad and Yamgar demanded the remaining Rs 15,000. The complainant approached the Aurangabad ACB. (Aurangabad ACB Tap)

 

The Aurangabad unit verified that the bribe was demanded from the complainant for helping him in the registered case. Also, it was proved that Gaikwad and Yamgar took Rs 10,000 as the first installment and demanded the remaining amount. Accordingly, after setting a trap on Monday, both of them were caught red-handed while accepting Rs. 15,000 from the complainant.
