Man killed in row over sleeping on footpath in Nana Peth

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Crime | A row over sleeping on the footpath led to a man hitting an unknown person with a cement slab, which resulted in his death. An FIR has been registered at the Samarth police station and a man has been arrested. The police have arrested Mohit Amir Angir (30), a resident of Khadki. (Pune Crime)

 

Rizwan Shaikh (41), a resident of Nana Peth, has filed a complaint at the Samarth police station. The incident took place at a footpath at Padamjee Chowk in Nana Peth on Tuesday (May 3) between 1 am and 1.30 am.

 

According to the police, Angir and the unknown person are beggars and vagabonds. Mohit Angir had come to sleep on the footpath near the cemetery at Padamjee Chowk. A person used to sleep there. At midnight, he told Angir not to sleep there and abused him which led to a quarrel between them.

 

Mohit, who was angry, hit the unknown person with a cement slab which was lying there. The person was seriously injured. When he was taken to the Sassoon Hospital, he died before medical treatment. The police have arrested Mohit Angir. The deceased is yet to be identified.
