Pune – 2 Army jawans arrested for raping speech-impaired woman staff at Military hospital, Khadki

Pune: NP NEWS N24 ONLINE – Two months after, four Army personnel were booked by Pune city police for allegedly molesting and raping a speech-impaired woman in the Military hospital (MH), Range Hills, Khadki, premises, two of them have been arrested.

The 34-year-old woman filed the complaint in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with the help on an NGO and the letter was sent regarding it to Defence Minister and Army Chief.

Indore police had transferred the case to Pune police. Accordingly, an FIR was registered at Khadki police station against Haroon Rashid, Mohammad Muthazim, Ravindra Singh and Ahirwar. The incident took place between January and June 2015.

Police arrested Ravindra Singh and Mangilal Ahirwar. The duo were handed over by Army.

According to police, the woman was raped during night shifts. When she complained to the senior officer, he too raped her. They made her video also and then used that to blackmail and rape her along with two other jawans who are from Army Medical Corps (AMC).

In July she learned about Anand Service society, Indore, which works deaf and mute persons. She met Gyanendra Purohit and narrated her ordeal. They lodged a complaint with Indore DIG on Monday and on Tuesday they came to Pune.

Police have booked the accused jawans for offenses under sections 376 (2) (e) (being on the management or on the staff of a hospital, commits rape on a woman in that hospital), 354 (a) (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). made her video also and then used that to blackmail and rape her along with two other jawans who are from Army Medical Corps (AMC).
