Nandurbar Local Crime Branch uncovers conspiracy to pass off murder as accident

Nandurbar : NpNews24 Online Nandurbar Crime | An incident has come to light in Nandurbar wherein a farm watchman, his wife and their daughter killed a labourer after assaulting him with a wooden rod on the suspicion that he was eyeing their daughter. After the murder, an attempt was made to pass it off as an accident. But the Nandurbar local crime branch carried out an exhaustive investigation and they found that it was a murder, said SP PR Patil in a press release.

A 35-year-old man’s body was found near a farm on the Nandurbar to Nizar road on the Dhamdai phata. There were multiple injuries on the man’s body. Initial investigation revealed that the body was of Jamsingh Sursingh Thakre (35), who was working on the stone crusher of Manohar Vyankat Patil. A case of accidental death had been recorded at the Nandurbar police station. SP PR Patil who has experience of working in Pune as chief of crime branch, examined the spot minutely. He instructed the Nandurbar local crime branch to carry out a detailed probe. The police visited the spot and questioned labourers working on the stone crusher. Since the deceased Thakre had the habit of drinking, a guess was made that he may have died in a collision. When the police again questioned the labourers, they came to know that some labourers and Thakre had consumed alcohol.

However, the probe revealed nothing. The police realised that a watchman of a farm near the stone crusher Khema Valvi was avoiding the policemen. When he was questioned, he gave evasive answers. When the police examined the spot, they saw blood marks. When Valvi was questioned, admitted killing Thakre. Thakre used to eye the labourer’s daughter frequently. After Thakre consumed alcohol, there was a suspicion that he may have done something wrong. Hence, Valvi, his wife and daughter assaulted Thakre with a wooden rod. After Thakre died, they got scared and made up an alibi of an accident. Accordingly, Valvi tied up the legs of Thakre and threw his body near the farm on the Nizar road and pretended that an accident had taken place.

SP PR Patil’s observation and the probe carried out by the Nandurbar crime branch revealed that it was not an accident but a murder.

The action was taken by a team of officials including SP PR Patil, Addl SP Vijay Pawar, PI Ravindra Kalamkar, havaldar Mahendra Nagrale, police naik Dadabhau Masul, Vishal Nagre, policemen Abhay Rajput, Abhimanyu Gavit, Shoaib Shaikh and Chapona Ramesh Salunke.
