Gangster has Heart too; Abu Salem Seeks for Parole to Get Married

Abu Salem, 1993 Mumbai blast convict, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking 45-day parole for marriage. According to reports, the Bombay High Court dismissed the matter of parole application filed by 1993 serial blasts convict Abu Salem. However, this is not the first time that Abu Salem has knocked the doors of the court. His bail application has been rejected twice in the past. Reports say that Abu Salem will be getting married to a woman named Kausar Bahar.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday (August 7) dismissed the 45-day parole application of Abu Salem. He was seeking parole for his marriage. He also sought approval for it last year, which the TADA court had rejected. Kausar living in the Mumbra area, had expressed her desire in court to marry Salem in 2015.

It was claimed that both had got married in train in the year 2014, now they want to legalize it. Salem, accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, is serving lifetime imprisonment in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail.

According to media reports, Salem has often met Kausar during the trial while going to Lucknow and Delhi. Last year also Kausar had visited Salem in Police custody. Kausar had also filed a 6-page application in the TADA court in 2015. In which she said, “Talks about her marriage with Abu Salem ruined her life. I have not left any other way than officially marrying Salem, if she is not given permission then she will commit suicide. ” Kausar’s family has also approved for their marriage.

Salem is 50 years old, while Kausar is around 20 years younger than Salem according to reports. According to Hussain Jaidi’s book ‘Mein Abu Salem Bol Raha Hu’, he was married to Kausar while travelling to Lucknow by train. The muslim marriage riatuals were done by one Kaji of Mumbai. Salem’s nephew Rashid Ansari and two of Mumbai-Lucknow police jawans were present as proof of their marriage.

During the trials of Salem, Kausar has been found in the TADA court several times. It is said that he handles the business of Salem. Both were interviewed in court. During the hearing, the couple had fallen in love after few meetings.
