Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Pune | ACB Pune files FIR against PSI and police constable for demanding bribe
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Pune | ACB Pune has filed a case against a PSI and constable posted at the Shirur police station for demanding a bribe for help in getting bail in a case. The policemen have been identified as PSI Suresh Kundlik Geete and constable Santosh Ramdas Sathe. The action by the Pune ACB has created a flutter in the Pune rural police. A 36-year-old person lodged a complaint with the Pune ACB. Accordingly, the Pune ACB had verified the complaint on February 5 and 6. It was found that Geete and Sathe had sought a bribe of
Rs 10,000 but had agreed to take a bribe of Rs 5,000. Accordingly, on Friday, a case was filed against Geete and Sathe under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act 7,12 at the Shirur police station.
Since the complainant was not willing to pay the bribe, he complained to the Pune ACB. When ACB (Pune) did a verification, they found that Geete and Sathe had indeed sought a bribe.
The action was taken by the Pune unit under the guidance of ACB SP Rajesh Bansode and Addl SP Suraj Gurav. Police Inspector Virnath Mane is investigating the case.
