Miraj : NpNews24 Online – Sangli Crime | Nine members of a family were found dead at Mhaisal in Miraj taluka of Sangli district. The incident took place at Ambika Nagar at Mhaisal, 12 km away from Miraj. However, it could not be ascertained whether they committed suicide or died due to poisoning.
The police rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident. It was suspected to be a suicide pact due to a financial crisis.
According to details, nine members of a family apparently ended their lives at Mhaisal in Miraj taluka on Sunday night. Two brothers identified as Manik and Popat Vanmore took the extreme step, along with their family members, including their mother and children. The incident came to light on Monday morning. The entire district was shocked due to the sensational deaths.
The Vanmore brothers were staying in two separate houses. They simultaneously committed suicide, along with their families. Six bodies were found in a room while two others in another room. Manik Vanmore was a veterinary doctor. No one, including him, picked phone from his family on Monday. Villagers checked for anything suspicious and found the bodies. However, it was not confirmed whether they died of suicide or poisoning. A team of the Miraj Rural Police arrived at the spot.
