Pune: A military tank should be deployed for Parth’s security: Rohit Pawar
Pune: The tussle between MVA candidate Supriya Sule and Maha Yuti’s Sunetra Pawar is becoming interesting. Allegations and counter-allegations are a part of the campaign. Both sides are indulging in it.
Now, the Pawar family members supporting Supriya Sule have objected to the Y-plus security provided to DyCM Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar. NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar sarcastically said, “Parth Pawar is a big leader. A military tank should have been provided for his security.”
After the Y-plus security cover thrown around Parth, the rival Pawar camp is demanding the security cover to Rohit Pawar and Yugendra Pawar also. MP Supriya Sule had demanded that security given to Rohit and Yugendra should be strengthened.
Parth Pawar holds no political post. He is merely campaigning for his mother Sunetra Pawar. He was a Lok Sabha candidate last time. His father and DyCM Ajit Pawar was, in fact, present when Shrirang Barne filed his nominations from the Maval LS seat. Barne had defeated Parth in the last LS polls. The dipping level of politics is being discussed in political circles. Ajit Pawar’s both sons are campaigning. In this backdrop, the Y-plus security given to Parth has caused a controversy.
Mentioning Sagar Bungalow, Devendra Fadnavis’s official residence, MLA Rohit Pawar has criticized the Y-plus security cover extended to Parth Pawar.
Deploy a military tank
Rohit Pawar said, “Parth being a big leader, the Y-plus security is not enough. He should get the Z security. They should add 4-5 more security vehicles to his convoy.
“The Koyta gang is troubling common people. Commoners are being murdered. Women are being tortured. Therefore, there is no need to provide security to commoners. Politicians’ sons should get strong security. DyCM and State Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis is doing this. He is doing his job from Sagar Bungalow, taking care of politicians and leaving commoners in the lurch. Fadnavis is doing a fantastic job. It is my view that Parth should have got two-three more security guards. If it is practical, they should deploy a military tank too.”
Security demand for Rohit and Yugendra too
Rohit and Yugendra are campaigning for Supriya Sule in Baramati. Yugendra Pawar was gheraoed by some people recently. Sule had then demanded a security cover for Yugendra and Rohit. However, it has not been granted yet.
Meanwhile, 38 candidates are in the fray in Baramati. However, the main fight is between Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar. Both of them have been campaigning for the past many days. The Y-plus security is provided to VVIPs, political leaders or people who have been issued a life threat. However, the security provided to Parth Pawar is being questioned. ‘Is there a threat to his life?’ ‘Does he really need the Y-plus security cover?’ Such questions are being raised.
