Pune Crime News | Vishrantwadi police arrests notorious criminal; Info about seven crimes comes to light, Police seize goods worth ₹1.60 lakh

PUNE : Pune Crime News | The Vishrantwadi police have arrested a notorious criminal for threatening citizens travelling on the road from Shanti Nagar to Chavan Chawl with a sickle. Seven crimes registered at different police stations in Pune city have come to light. The police have seized goods worth ₹1.60 lakh including 14 mobiles.

 

The arrested accused has been identified as Sultan alias Hafiz Mohammad Shaikh (20), a resident of Kondhwa. On May 23, 2023, policeman Prafful More, Sandip Devkate and Shekhar Kharade had got information that a notorious criminal was threatening citizens travelling on Shanti Nagar to Chavan Chawl road with a sickle.

 

The information was verified. The police laid a trap and arrested him under the guidance of senior officials. When he was questioned, it came to light that he had committed crimes in the limits of Vimantal police station, Bharati Vidyapeeth police station, Lonikand police station (2), Market Yard police station (2) and Bibvewadi police station i.e. totally seven crimes. The police seized 14 mobiles of different companies, iron sickle, scooter and cigarette packets totally worth ₹1.60 lakh from the accused.

 

Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Shashikant Borate, ACP Arti Bansode, Sr PI Dattatray Bhapkar, PI Kavidas Jambhale guided PSI Lahu Satpute, policemen Yashvant Kirve, Sampat Bhosle, Sanjay Badre, Sandip Devkate, Prafful More and Shekhar Kharade in taking the action.
