PSI of Hadapsar police station arrested while accepting bribe of Rs 50,000
Pune: Pune ACB Trap | PSI Sagar Dilip Poman of Hadapsar police station was arrested red handed by the ACB Pune while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 to get Rs 20 lakh lost in a cheating case. A case has been filed against Sagar Poman under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Hadapsar police station and he has been arrested. The ACB Pune took this action on Tuesday at 10.40 pm at Koregaon Park in Moka Hotel. (Pune ACB Trap)
A 32-year-old complainant of Gomti Nagar in Uttar Pradesh had lodged a complaint with the ACB Pune. PSI Sagar Poman is posted at Hadapsar police station and the complainant is a businessman. The complainant had filed a complaint of being cheated at the police station. Poman sought a bribe of Rs 50,000 to help in the release of
Rs 20 lakh.
When the Pune ACB examined the complaint in the presence of panches, it found that PSI Poman had sought a bribe of Rs 50,000 to secure Rs 20 lakh which the complainant had been cheated of. Poman had agreed to accept the money at Moka Hotel in Koregaon Park. ACB Pune team raided the hotel and arrested Poman accepting 25 notes of Rs 2,000.
The action was taken by a team of ACB Pune under the guidance of Pune ACB SP Rajesh Bansode and Addl SP Suraj Gurav.
Citizens should lodge a complaint with the ACB if government employees demand bribes to do official work. The citizens can also contact the ACB helpline number 1064.
