Passing out of DEME course – INS Shivaji

Direct Entry Engineering Mechanic Course (DEME – 60.941) Course of 294 trainees, comprising 267 trainees from the Indian Navy and 27 trainees of Indian Coast Guard, passed out from INS Shivaji at a ceremonial Passing out Parade on 07 Sep 18, after having successfully completed 26 weeks of professional ab-initio training.

The Parade was reviewed by Commodore K Srinivas, Station Commander, Lonavla and Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji, who complimented the Passing Out Course on their smart turn out and drill and exhorted them to uphold the three most important tenets of the Service i.e. Duty, Honour, and Courage. The Commanding Officer also commended all the instructors and staff for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring that the course passed out with professional skill and competence to carry out their next duties.

Shani Sarswat, DEME stood ‘first in the overall order of merit’ by securing 85.9% marks and was awarded FOC-in-C (South) rolling trophy and a book prize. Rajnesh Singh, DEME was adjudged ‘Best Sportsman’ of the Course and awarded Commodore’s Rolling Trophy.
