Valuables worth Rs 66 lakh stolen from a bungalow at Sindh society in Baner

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime | Incidents of theft are increasing in Pune. There is an atmosphere of fear among citizens as house breakings are taking place during the daytime. Thieves broke into a house in a posh society in Aundh area and made away with valuables worth Rs 66 lakhs. The incident took place at Sindh Housing Society, Baner Road, Aundh between 1.30 pm and 4 pm on Sunday. (Pune Crime)

 

Sameer Rameshwar Dayal (55) has lodged a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi Police Station. In this case, the police have registered a case under sections 454, 380 of the IPC against unknown thieves.

 

According to Police Sub-Inspector Rupesh Chalke, complainant Sameer Dayal owns a packing company in Pimpri-Chinchwad and lives in Aundh area. He had gone out to have lunch with his family around 1.30 pm on Sunday. Taking advantage of this, thieves broke the backdoor and entered the bungalow. The thieves broke the lock of the cupboard in the bedroom and stole 205 tolas of gold jewellery, 4 tolas of diamond jewellery, silver jewellery, platinum jewellery and cash, thus totalling worth Rs 66.42 lakh.

 

When Sameer Dayal came home at around 4 pm, he found the backdoor of the bungalow open. When he went into the bedroom, he found that the thieves broke the lock of the cupboard and stole the valuables inside. He immediately called the Chatuhshrungi police station. On getting to know about the incident, a team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) rushed to the spot. The police have started searching for the culprits on the basis of CCTV footage from the area. PSI Rupesh Chalke is conducting further investigation.
