Two traffic policemen on ACB radar for demanding bribe of ₹14,000

THANE : NpNews24 Online  – ACB Demand Case On Traffic Police | A traffic constable each from Bhiwandi City traffic police division and ShilPhata traffic police division are on radar of ACB for demanding ₹14,000 for releasing a Bolero pick up tempo and later demanding ₹3,000 after compromise. The accused have been identified as constable Dilip Malu Satpute (buckle number 2984) posted at Bhiwandi city traffic police department, Thane city police and Sachin Madhukar Bhosale (buckle number 3564) posted at ShilPhata traffic department, Thane city. The complainant’s Mahindra Bolero pick up tempo had been stopped at ShilPhata traffic chowky. To release the tempo, police constable Dilip Satpute and his colleagues demanded a bribe of ₹5,000. The complainant had lodged a compliant with the Navi Mumbai ACB on March 6, 2023.

 

On March 6, 2023, during the verification of the complaint in the presence of panches, Dilip Satpute, Sachin Bhosale and two other unidentified traffic policemen misused their powers and demanded a bribe of ₹14,000 from the complainant. After compromise, they demanded a bribe of ₹3,000.

 

Since the complaint has been verified, an FIR has been registered against the two traffic policemen. Thane ACB SP Sunil Lokhande and Addl SP Anil Gherdikar guided the policemen in taking the action.
