Traffic policeman brutally assaulted in Hinjewadi; Two persons arrested

Police Naik Somnath Ramdas Divte (36) of Hinjewadi traffic branch has lodged a complaint at the Hinjewadi police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Amit Sakhre, Prathamesh Hande and a Haiwa driver under sections 353, 332, 186, 323, 504, 506 and 34 and also under provisions of Motor Vehicle Act and arrested Amit Sakhre and Prathamesh Hande.
According to the police, the complainant Somnath Divte was on duty at Croma T junction. He saw that a Haiwa was coming from the opposite direction and he asked the driver to stop. The owner of Haiwa, Amit Sakhre who was angry and his friend Prathamesh Hande argued with the complainant. They brutally assaulted the complainant.
Amit Sakhre abused the complainant by telling him, “I will kill you because you have stopped my vehicle. Do you know me? I am ‘bhai’ of Hinjewadi Amit Sakhre.” Sakhre’s friend Hande told Sakhre to take out his weapon so they that they could kill Divte. The Hinjewadi police are carrying out a probe into the case.
