Bombay HC fines state government: Drop Chandrakant Patil from the cabinet, says Mohan Joshi

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Mohan Joshi On Chandrakant Patil | Deputy Chief of State Congress Mohan Joshi has demanded that Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil should be dismissed from the cabinet because he had made controversial statements regarding great leaders. He said the court criticised the government for arresting a Congress activist and a fine of ₹25,000 was levied on the state government. (Mohan Joshi On Chandrakant Patil)

The police had acted against a Congress activist for sharing a video of Chandrakant Patil. Mohan Joshi said that Chandrakant Patil had misused his official position and pressurised the police. Patil had allegedly made insulting statements against Mahatma Phule, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. The police took action against Congress activist Sandip Kudale for sharing a video on social media. Patil had said that if no action is taken, then he will go on a fast.

“When the police action was challenged in the Bombay High Court, it ruled that it was illegal to arrest the activist. The state government has been fined ₹25,000. It is clear that Patil has misused his official position. Similarly, Patil has misused his powers during campaigning for the Kasba Peth bypoll. Hence, he should be dropped from the cabinet,” Joshi said.
