Youth cheated of Rs 20 lakh under the guise of buying bitcoin

Kuldip Narayan Kadam (36), a resident of Shaniwar Peth has filed a complaint. The police have registered a complaint against Ranjit Janail Singh (37), a resident of Mira Bhayandar, Thane, Shabbir Shaikh (41), a resident of Mira Road (east), Sujoy Paul, a resident of Handewadi, Mangesh Kadam, a resident of Gokhale Nagar and Mukul, a resident of Mumbai.
According to the police, the accused won the trust of the complainant and told him that he will help him to buy bitcoin. On November 19, 2020, the price of bitcoin was Rs 10.5 lakh. The complainant sent Rs 19 lakh 70 thousand 886 to the accused Ranjit Janail Singh.
However, they did not give the bitcoin as agreed. When the complainant asked for it, he was threatened that he would be killed and was cheated.
