Father-daughter duo die in accident in Hadapsar
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Accident News | A man and his daughter were killed in an accident involving their two-wheeler and a truck. They fell from the two-wheeler when the truck knocked them down. The man died on the spot while his daughter succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital. (Pune Accident News)
The accident took place near the Gliding Centre at Satavwadi in Hadapsar when the father was going to drop his daughter to school. The incident took place at around 7 am on Tuesday.
The victims have been identified as Nilesh Salunkhe (35) and Meenakshi Salunkhe (10), both residents of Fursungi. The truck driver Dilip Kumar Patel from Reva, MP has been arrested.
According to the police, Meenakshi was studying in Std V in the Sadhana Vidyalaya, Hadapsar. Nilesh was taking her to school from Fursungi. Their bike was hit by the speedy truck. Nilesh came under the wheel of the truck while the girl was thrown away and got seriously injured. Nilesh died on the spot while Meenakshi breathed her last soon after.
The Hadapsar police reached the spot and arrested the truck driver. Though there are no potholes at the accident spot, Pune-Saswad road is ridden with craters and potholes. Moreover, garbage strewn around the roadside has made the road slippery.
