Man held for demanding ₹7 lakh for police recruitment

ALIBAUG : NpNews24 Online  – Police Recruitment – 2023 |  The recruitment of policemen is going on all over the state. Crooks are taking advantage of this and many would be policemen are being cheated of lakhs of rupees under the guise of recruitment in the police force. Many such incidents have come to light. A similar incident has come to light in Roha. A person demanded ₹7 lakh from a candidate to get a job in the Raigad police and took ₹1lakh as advance. An FIR has been registered against an individual. (Police Recruitment – 2023)

 

The accused has been identified as PB Mokal. He had demanded ₹7 lakh from a person after promising to get a job for his son in Raigad police force. The complainant agreed to pay the money. Later, the complainant, his brother, nephew and son went to meet the accused at Pen. The accused took ₹1 lakh from the complainant’s brother. He did not get a job for the complainant’s son even after taking money. When the complainant realised that he had been cheated, he lodged a complaint at the Roha police. After the FIR was registered the police searched for him and arrested him.

 

The accused was produced in the court of PB Mokal, he was remanded in police custody. PI Bawar is probing the case.
Speaking about the incident, SP Somnath Gharge said, “No irregularities take place during police recruitment and the candidates should always remember this. It is illegal to give money to anyone as a bribe or use other illegal means. Only hard work and study are required for success. If anyone is found cheating any person, he should immediately contact the police.”

 

The Raigad district police have appealed to all candidates that the recruitment is being held in a non-partisan manner and no irregularities will be tolerated. If any person is demanding money by promising something or if anyone is having doubts about any financial irregularities, he should contact the SP office on 0241 228473 and 222028.
