Because the Maratha Kranti Morcha called the Maharashtra bandh all the entities of public transport are closed. It is said that the situation will be the same until the bandh is lifted.

The usually overcrowded bus stands and auto stands are empty and isolated. The PMPL and ST buses have become inaccessible.

One of the citizen, Kalyani Nagore while talking to NPNEWS24 said that “Today morning I left my home at 7.30 Am, standing in front of Karve Nagar bridge. Normally this bridge is full of the crowd but today only a few people were waiting for the bus. Usually, there is no space to place even a foot in the bus came almost empty. It was terrifying to ride alone, the market through which the bus passes was also deserted and all the shops were closed.

Even the big companies providing cap and auto had deactivated their services.

According to sources all the auto and share auto drivers are avoiding to take any customers as they are scared of stone pelting and being stricken by the protesters. Some bold auto drivers who were ready to take customers were charging a lot than the meter charges.

Rishikesh Karbhajain told, “I travel by auto every day. It the meter charges Rs 40 to cover the distance between Shivaji Nagar to Sadashiv Peth. But today the auto driver was charged me Rs 150, claiming that his health is on stake. Since I had no choice three times more.”

Not only this even the students who are leaving away from home and family had a hard time searching for food. All the messes and restaurants were closed. Even the tea stalls were shut. The students have a point of relief with some of the open vada pav stalls, but they also charged a lot as they were the only food providers.

There are many internal services provided in the townships like Nanded City, Magarpatta city etc. one of the students living at Nanded City Ghazala Nasreen told NPNEWS24 that

“I and my roommates had to take lifts from our flat parking to the entrance of the townships as all the internal bus services and share autos were shut. We did not even get busses and had to walk till a long distance and ask random people for lifts.”

“it was very hard to drive a two-wheeler, as the Navale bridge was blocked and I had to reroute. Also, I had to come back home as the protester reach my office located at Bibwewadi and forced us to shut it down,” said another city dweller Aishwarya.

The bus and auto rides is a huge part of many Punears daily chores. Thousands of people use the public transport to go around the city. Today, with Maharashtra Badh being called by the Maratha Kranti Morcha such was the torment and agony of city dwellers.
