Morcha affecting all over Maharashtra

The Maharashtra bandh on August 9, called by the Maratha Community members, began on a peaceful note in most of the parts but however, the protest turned out to be violent in the Waluj area. As the situation was going out of control so the Police official lobbed tear gas to control the crowd.

 Along with this, the police also lathi-charge on the crowd to remove the mobilization of agitators. During this, agitators stone pelted at the police and private bus and a police van was set on fire

Agitators also protested on Jalna-Aurangabad highway. The city was completely closed during in Jalna today. The bus services, schools, colleges and shops were also closed. The agitators also burnt tires at several placed in Jalna District. The agitators burnt tires on the roads in Dadhi Wada of Badnapur Taluka, Fulbari-Rajur, along with Bhokardan-Jafrabad road in Badnapur taluka resulting in traffic.

Congress Legislator Amit Deshmukh was also on the road as he was called by the Maratha agitators in Latur District. The government will have to give immediate reservation otherwise the government will have to face serious consequences.

While Beed District supported bandh. School, College in the district were also closed.

Kolhapur:

The protest will not stop. Now the voice of Maratha will reach Delhi, said Shahu Chhatrapati on Thursday.

He was speaking at the public meeting organized by the Sakal Maratha Samaj in Kolhapur. From 9 am in Dasara Chowk. The youth was seen carrying saffron flags on bikes.

Mayor Shobha Bondre, Deputy Mayor Mahesh Sawant, Chief Editor of Daily ‘Pudhari’ Pratapsingh Jadhav, ‘Lokmat’ Editor Vasant Bhosale, Yashwantrao Thorat of NABARD, Senior historian researcher Dr. Jaysingrao Pawar, MP Dhananjay Mahadik, MLA Satej Patil, Rajesh Kshirsagar, Chandradeep Narke, Satyajeet Patil (Sarudkar), Former MLA Manojiraje, Co-ordinator Dilip Desai, Indrajit Sawant, Vasantrao Mulak were also present for the public meeting.

Shahu Chhatrapati said the voices of the Marathas gathered for the demand of reservation will reach Delhi. This sound of Marathas has to be circulated properly to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. Because there is a single party government at the centre and state. Therefore, without any reason, the government should give a reservation as soon as possible.

Dr Thorat said, the government should listen to the voice of the people who have started the Maratha reservation. We can’t say that this government has not done anything, but the question of reservation is not yet implemented. The protest will continue till the economical backwards and financial backward classes of Maratha community don’t get the reservation.

Jaysingarao Pawar said the reservation should be kept fiery as, without that, the government won’s take any decision. Maratha youth should not commit suicide, because the protest is going for you only.

Nashik:

Despite no bandh in Nashik, MSRTC cancels all its services for the day. All bus services were also kept closed.

Aurangabad

In Aurangabad, two police vans were set on fire by the agitators. Protesters also pelted stones on Police and two policemen were injured.
