Mumbai police declare DCP Saurabh Tripathi a fugitive in Angadia extortion case

Pune : NpNews24 Online – IPS Saurabh Tripathi | The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has declared DCP Saurabh Tripathi as a wanted accused in the Angadia extortion case. Sources said DCP Tripathi has not reported to duty for the past some days. Hence, the police have declared him a fugitive, said ANI, quoting the sources.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch had arrested PI Om Wangate attached to the LT Marg police station last week. Now, DCP Tripathi has been declared absconding. The Crime Branch is investigating the case. It remains to be seen how many more such names would crop up in the matter.

What is the case?

PI Wangate is an accused in the Mumbadevi Angadia extortion case. Addl CP Dilip Sawant looked into the case and lodged a complaint. Later, PI Om Wangate, API Nitin Kadam and PSI Samadhan Jamdade were booked for extortion and loot by the LT Marg police. PI Wangate has also been arrested.
