Citizen beaten up by drunk policemen in police chowki in Nashik

Nashik : NpNews24 Online Nashik Police | An incident has come to light wherein, a citizen who had come to the DK Nagar police chowki to lodge a complaint about miscreants, was brutally assaulted by the policemen. The policemen were having a drinks party and since the citizen had seen them consuming alcohol, he was beaten up.

 

A case has been registered at the Gangapur police station. The accused policemen have been identified as Raghunath Thakur, Sagar Bodhle, Suresh Jadhav and Mayursingh.

 

Balasaheb Shinde has lodged a complaint. According to the police, Gangapur Road, Akashwani Tower and Nirmala School area is considered a very posh area. DK Nagar police chowki is located in the area. Shinde had gone to the police station on Tuesday at 11 pm to file a complaint against miscreants sitting in the garden. He saw that five-six policemen were consuming alcohol in the chowki.

 

When he enquired about filing a complaint, he was called inside by the police and beaten up. The citizens staying in the area came to know about the incident. Many citizens gathered outside the chowki and the policemen escaped after abusing the citizens. The citizens chased them and apprehended one of them.

 

After they came to know about the incident, ACP Dipali Khanna and other police officials reached the spot. The police took a drunk policeman in their custody and he had been sent for a medical examination. The other four policemen are absconding.
