Mumbai: ED detains Pratap Sarnaik’s son Vihang in money laundering case

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik’s son, Vihang Sarnaik has been detained by the officials of the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday. This was after the officials raided the MLA’s house and office.

The arrest took place after the ED conducted raids at 10 premises linked to Mr. Sarnaik, including his residence at Thane in the morning.

The raids — in which incriminating evidence reportedly came up — were being carried out simultaneously at the locations in Mumbai and Thane under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA),

The searches are being conducted on the Tops group, its promoters and related people, including some politicians.

Mr. Pratap Sarnaik is the MLA from the Ovala-Majiwada Vidhan Sabha constituency in Thane. He is also Shiv Sena’s Maharashtra spokesperson and the communication leader for Mira-Bhayandar area.
