Tension Increased With China, Firing On LAC Between India-China Troops Again After 45 Years



Ladakh : Amid ongoing tension along the border, there has been an incident of firing between Indian and Chinese soldiers along the Line of Actual Control in the eastern Ladakh sector. Top sources associated with the government say that the situation is under control at the moment.

There has been tension on LAC between the soldiers of the two countries since long and efforts are being made to normalize the situation on both sides at the military and diplomatic level. The special thing is that after 1975, there has been a firing between the soldiers of India and China on the border.

Sources say that there was firing in Indian territory from China, after which retaliation was done from India. There was firing from both sides. Currently the situation has been claimed to be under control.

A late-night statement by Colonel Zhang Shuili, a spokesman for the Western Theater Command of the Chinese Ministry of Defense, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, said the alleged “provocation” was carried out on behalf of the Indian troops, retaliating on behalf of the Chinese troops (countermeasures). However, there has been no statement from India about this firing.

PLA Western Theater Command spokesman Colonel Zhang Shuili also revealed that the Indian Army illegally crossed the Line of Actual Control in Shenpao mountain near the southern shore of Pangong Lake on Monday.

Sources in the Indian Army confirmed that “warning shots” were fired. The border troops have been on high alert ever since they took control of the black top and helmet top and the Chinese troops are moving to regain control of both these peaks.

PLA Western Theater Command spokesman Colonel Zhang Shuili said that during the operation, the Indian Army threatened to fire the patrolling personnel of the Chinese border guards, forcing the Chinese border guards to retaliate to stabilize the situation.

He said that this is a serious military provocation and very bad nature. We request the Indian side to stop dangerous operations immediately, withdraw the cross-line personnel immediately, strictly stop the front-line troops, and strictly investigate and punish the personnel who have fired, so that in future, such incidents do not happen again.

Government sources have confirmed that the incident of firing between Indian and Chinese soldiers occurred adjacent to the LAC in the East Ladakh sector. Sources, however, claimed that the situation was under control.

The LAC again has a tense situation when Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Moscow to attend the SCO meeting and will hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi there.

Foreign Minister Jaishankar said during a conversation on Monday that he will talk about his meeting with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi later. He said that the situation of the border cannot be linked with the relations of the country. We have a lot of understanding on border management which dates back to 1993. Peace is the foundation for the relationship.

Meanwhile, China resumed military exercises in the maritime areas adjoining Jiangsu and Hebei provinces on Monday amid tense atmosphere with Indian troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. Recently, there was a confrontation between the Indian Army and the Chinese Army in the southern area of Pangong Lake.

The Chinese army is upset with the deployment of Indian troops and retaliation. Several rounds of talks have also taken place between the two countries amid the tensed atmosphere.
