Shirdi Airport | Night landing facility will be started soon at Shirdi airport, says MADC Managing Director Deepak Kapoor
Shirdi : NpNews24 Online Shirdi Airport | A team of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is going to examine night landing facilities at Shirdi airport in the last week of May 2022, to allow night landing facilities at the airport. Maharashtra Airport Development Company Managing Director Deepak Kapoor said that the night landing facility will be made available after a nod from the DGCA.
Deepak Kapoor held a meeting of officials at the airport to understand the grievances of citizens staying in the vicinity of Shirdi airport. He examined various facilities at the airport like arrival and departure, fire fighting arrangement, night landing, cargo service, cleanliness and the problems faced by Kakdi projected affected people and other parts of the airport.
Kapoor said that Shirdi Airport is the fastest growing airport in the country. So far, goods of 2 lakh kilo have been exported from Shirdi. Vegetables, fruits and flowers are regularly being sent to Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi. To expand this facility, MADC is going to build a cargo hub at the airport by spending Rs 20 crore.
After a meeting of representatives of the affected people in Kakdi, instructions were issued to float a tender for cleaning of the water tank and its repairs. Other problems of the project-hit people like lack of roads, schools, restaurants etc were also discussed. The problems of sellers at the airport were discussed and suitable action was taken. Kapoor said that an overview was taken of the firefighting facilities at the airport and airport officials were directed to take precautionary measures.
Speaking about the passenger lounge at the departure and arrival area, Kapoor said passenger amenities were minutely examined and instructions have been issued to repair the wrongly fitted floor.
Director of Shirdi airport Sushilkumar Shrivastava, terminal manager Murali Krishna, architectural engineer Kaustubh Sasane, Chief Financial Officer Sanjay Kanjane, Superintendent Engineer Mangesh Kulkarni, Ajay Desai, Krishna Shinde and other officials and staff were present.
