PUNE: SOUTHERN COMMAND CELEBRATES 75TH REPUBLIC DAY

 

Pune: The 75th Republic Day of India was celebrated at HQ Southern Command on 26 January 2024 with traditional gaiety and honour. Brigadier Sandeep Vasudeva, SM, Station Commander Pune laid the wreath on behalf of Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Army Commander, Southern Command. The event was attended by officers, Junior Commissioned Officers’, Other Ranks, veterans and local populace. The station commander complimented all on this auspicious occasion and encouraged all to work towards the betterment of the country and contribute efficiently towards Nation Building.

The flagging in ceremony of “Naman and amman Run”, a 3000 Km tribute run conducted by a 62 Yr old, Mr Kumar Ajwani, was also conducted at the Command War Memorial making this event special. Mr Ajwani had commenced this run from Amritsar on 27 November 2023, travelling all across places like Jalandhar, Karnal, New Delhi, Jaipur, Indore and finally culminating at Pune on 26 January 2023 (Day 60).  He had conducted this run, in order to express his solidarity and pay his tribute to all the fallen Braveheart’s and their family members.

Brigadier Sandeep Vasudeva flagged in the expedition and congratulated Mr Kumar Ajwani for successfully completing this incredible journey and for the noble initiative undertaken for the welfare of war heroes and their families.
