Pune Crime | Man arrested for breaking into houses, goods worth 9.65 lakh seized
Pune : NpNews24 Online Pune Crime | A thief has been arrested by the Faraskhana police for breaking the lock of a flat in a society and stealing ornaments. The accused has admitted committing five crimes and seized goods worth Rs 9 lakh 65 thousand. The accused has been identified as Prajwal Ganesh Wankhede alias Revannanath.
An FIR had been lodged at the Faraskhana police station regarding a robbery in a house. The incident happened on Monday. When the police were investigating the case, they found that a man was moving around the area in a suspicious manner. When he was questioned, he said he was staying in a lodge. The police arrested Prajwal Wankhede alias Revannanth (25), a resident of Padegaon Phata, Aurangabad.
When the bag of the accused was checked, the police found a laptop, 2 mobiles, a router, an airpod, a sports watch, cutter and silver jewellery. The police seized the goods and also the two-wheeler used by him totally worth Rs 1 lakh 74 thousand. The accused is in police custody and was thoroughly interrogated by the police.
During the questioning, he admitted committing four crimes in the limits of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. The police seized gold ornaments of 152 gm worth Rs 4 lakh 35 thousand 400 and silver ornaments of 395 gm and laptops worth Rs 3 lakh 65 thousand. The Faraskhana police have brought to light five crimes and seized gold, silver ornaments, 7 laptops, two -wheeler worth Rs 9 lakh 65 thousand 400. The accused was staying in a lodge under an assumed name.
The action was taken by a team of police officials including Senior PI Rajendra Landge, PI Shabbir Sayyad, API Sushil Bobade, PSI Abhijeet Patil, PSI Ajit Kumar Patil, policemen Sameer Malvadkar, Abhinay Choudhary, Rizwan Jinedi, Mehboob Mokashi, Sachin Sarpale, Rakesh Kshirsagar, Sandip Kamble Hrishikesh Dighe, Sayaji Chavan, Vaibhav Swamy, Mohan Dalvi, Pravin Pasalkar, Ganesh Atole and Mahavir Valte under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Rajendra Dahale, DCP Priyanka Narnavare and ACP Satish Govekar.
