Puneites urged to use alternative routes due to major traffic changes in the city in view of Maghi Shri Ganesh Jayanti

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Traffic News Updates | On the occasion of Maghi Shri Ganesh Jayanti, in view of the possibility of a large crowd of devotees gathering for darshan at the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir, an traffic has been banned on January 25 from 6 am till the crowds recede on Shivaji Road. The Pune Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to use alternative routes. (Pune Traffic News Updates)

 

There will be no ban on essential service vehicles like fire engines, police vehicles, ambulances, etc. All types of heavy traffic going from SG Barve Chowk to Swargate via Shivaji Road will be banned except PMPML Buses. There will be a temporary no-parking, no-halting zone from Premier Garage Chowk to Nagdev Oil Depot Chowk via Mangala Cinema.

 

Routes of PMPML Buses :-

During this period for PMPML buses, the circular bus route at the Pune Municipal Corporation will be Premier Garage Chowk, turn right in front of Mangala Cinema to Khude Chowk, turn right to Pune Municipal Court Corner, Premier Garage Chowk. PMPML buses going towards Swargate via Chhatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj Road from SG Barve Chowk will take a left turn from Premier Garage Chowk in front of Mangala Cinema and then take a right turn to Khude Chowk, Balgandharva Chowk, turn left to Khandojibaba Chowk, Alka Talkies Chowk, Tilak Road via Puram Chowk.

 

Buses going from SG Barve Chowk via Chhatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj Road to Pune Station will take a left turn at Premier Garage Chowk, take a left in front of Mangala Theater, NCP Bhavan, take a right at Kumbharves Chowk, take a left turn via Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk. PMPML buses coming from Kothrud and going towards Pune railway station via Appa Balwant Chowk will take Bajirao Road and turn right at Gadgil Putla Chowk and proceed to the Pune railway station via Kumbharves Chowk.

 

Routes for two-wheelers and light four-wheelers:-

These vehicles will go from SG Barve Chowk, straight via Jungli Maharaj Road, turn left at Balgandharva Chowk and go to the desired destination.

 

An alternate route should be used to reach Swargate via Chhatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj Road from Jijamata Chowk. From Jijamata Chowk turn left to Ganesh Road Phadke Houd Chowk, Devjibaba Chowk, turn right to Hamjekhan Chowk, go straight on Maharana Pratap Road or turn right on Lakshmi Road to Sonya Maruti Chowk, Belbagh Chowk, take a left turn and take Shivaji Road to your destination. From Shivaji Bridge to Gadgil Putla Chowk. Take a left turn through Kumbharves Chowk, Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk and proceed to your destination.

 

Going from Shivaji Bridge to Phadke Houd Chowk via Gadgil Putla Chowk, (Excluding the road leading to Premal Vithoba Temple) vehicles will take a left turn at Jijamata Chowk itself.

 

All traffic going from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk is being diverted through alternate routes and these vehicles will go to their destination via Appa Balwant Chowk, Bajirao Road.

 

As required after the procession of important and revered Ganesha started in the evening from Bajirao Road, traffic from Puram Chowk to Bajirao Road towards Municipal Corporation will be diverted as per requirement. The said vehicles will proceed from Puram Chowk via Tilak Road via Alka Talkies Chowk, Khandojibaba Chowk.

 

Likewise, the procession of Lord Ganesha and considering the traffic in the central part of the city, necessary changes will be made on Shivaji Road, Bajirao Road, Ganesh Road, Lakshmi Road and other procession routes, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar Magar.
