ANS lodges complaint against Jat Panchayat for ostracising community members married within sub-castes

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | A person who was ostracised by the Jat Panchayat of Shri Goud Brahmin Samaj for marrying a sub-caste girl has lodged a complaint against the members of the Jat Panchayat at the Bibvewadi Police Station in Pune. Fed up with the 23-years of arbitrary administration of the Jat Panchayat, the person has lodged this complaint with the help of Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANS). The man was ostracised from the community 23 years ago for not marrying a girl from the Shri Goud Brahmin community. Despite several requests and written letters, the caste panchayat did not take notice. (Pune Crime News)

Prakash Nemchand Dange (46) from Pune has lodged a complaint against caste panchayat members Tarachand Kaluram Oja, Bharat Nemchand Mavani, Prakash Laluchand Boldrah alias Sharma, Santosh Unesa, Motilal Bhoram Sharma Dangi, Balu Shankarlal Dangi, Prakash Asulal Ojha, Bhawarlal Dangi, Hemraj Ojha at Bibvewadi Police Station.

Shri Goud Brahmin Samaj is originally from Kivad Pali district in Rajasthan. In the last few years, the number of girls in this community has decreased. As girls are not available for marriage, the youth of this society have chosen their life partner within sub-caste or inter-caste marriage. However, caste panchayats ostracise such people and their families who have married within the sub-caste or inter-caste.

Other children in their family do not get married due to social exclusion. They cannot participate in the auspicious occasion of any relative. They have to bear this suffering only because of the arbitrary administration of the caste panchayat. In order to get out of this, Prakash Dange and other people who are fed up with the pressure of the caste panchayat sought the help of ANS. The ANS has lodged a complaint with the police on behalf of these people.
