Pune police resume stalled MOB meeting since pandemic, conduct ‘Parade’ of 20 criminals

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –Pune Crime News | The Pune Police MOB meeting, which has been stalled since December 2019 due to the Corona pandemic and lockdown, has been resumed from Tuesday. As many as 20 criminals arrested for crimes against body and property were ‘paraded’ in this meeting which was held at the Cops Excellence Hall No. 1 of Police Commissionerate. Total 150 police officials, including 44 PIs, attended the meeting. (Pune Crime News)

 

ACP Sunil Pawar (Crime Branch – 1) issued instructions in the meeting. The resumption of MOB meetings, which have been stalled for the last 2-3 years, will go a long way in preventing crimes by sharing information about criminals, their methods of operation and more.

 

CP Retesh Kumaarr, Jt CP Sandeep Karnik and Addl CP Ramnath Pokale took the initiative and asked to resume the MOB meeting.

 

The meeting was attended by PIs (Crime), Investigation Squad and Surveillance Squad officers and enforcers from 32 police stations in the city. All the concerned officers of the Crime Branch and 5 police enforcers from each unit and squad were present. As many as 20 criminals, who are currently under arrest, were ‘paraded’ in the meeting.

 

ACP Sunil Pawar gave instructions about what kind of details should be collected after the arrest of the criminal, and how his entire record should be prepared. He guided about how the arrested criminal should be investigated, as to what kind of crime he has committed in the past and how a report should be prepared. A detailed crime report was prepared about the 20 criminals who were ‘paraded’.

 

The meeting was held between 10 am and 12 pm on Tuesday. The police officers present collected the details of all the criminals, who were ‘paraded’. The local police and crime branch police ‘exchanged’ details on criminals with each other.

 

The resumption of stalled MOB meetings will help to prevent crimes from happening as well as to solve criminal cases by sharing details of criminals, modus operandi, their habits and traits.
