Pune-Mumbai Expressway witnessed another accident; 2 killed

Pune Mumbai Expressway has been witnessing accidents for several months causing many deaths and injuries. The frequency of accidents has increased. Every one or two month, an accident on Expressway hits the headlines. In another bizarre incident, a tractor was hit by a Tata Indica car (MH 14 GH 8239).

The incident took place on Pune- Mumbai Expressway in Kamshet Bogda area on Tuesday afternoon. In the accident, one died on the spot while the other died on the way to the hospital. The car driver is admitted to hospital and is in a critical condition.

The deceased Maruti Bhaw Thorat (70) and a woman died immediately after the accident. The primary fact is that the driver of the car is critical.

A car heading towards Mumbai from Pune lost control over the steering wheel of the car and hit the container (MH 46 AAF 0410) killing two people. The car driver was injured and was rushed to the nearby Lokmanya Hospital, Nigdi.

After receiving the information, Police immediately rushed to the spot and took the injured to the hospital. After which one was found dead, and one died on the way to hospital while the other was injured.

There was heavy traffic congestion seen on the way towards Pune which caused trouble to the other travelers as well. The traffic took time to clear out. Kamshet police is still probing in the case.

Increasing accidents on the Expressway is a sign of danger and which shows how the traffic of Pune will be in the coming years. Ambulances have become the need of the toll plazas now.

Maximum time, accidents occur due to poor driving, ignorance, lane cutting by the drivers. The drivers really need to be careful and alert while driving. And if the driver is drunk, it’s a cherry on top of the cake!
