Pune Crime | Seven-member gang arrested by Anti-Extortion Cell of Pune police for preparing fake documents to sell undeveloped properties

Pune : NpNews24 Online Pune Crime | A team of unit 1 of the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Pune police crime branch has arrested a gang of criminals who were preparing fake Aadhaar and voting ID cards and used to sell undeveloped properties of people. The accused are real estate agents and used to find out about undeveloped properties by using Google Maps and after confirming that the owners are either missing or dead, they used to procure official documents from government offices and used to sell them, an investigation by the police has revealed.

 

Kalpesh Ramesh Bohra is the mastermind of the gang and he has been arrested earlier. The AEC cell has arrested six others including Umesh Jagannath Bodke (47), a resident of Narayanwadi, Kalyan (west), Amol Govind Brahme (58), a resident of near Rajaram Bridge, Sinhagad Road, Pune, Sachin Dattatray Javalkar (41), a resident of Eagle Society, Kothrud Gaothan, Pune, Sayed Talib Hussain Syed Jamin Husain (43), a resident of Khamgaon, Buldhana, Pradeep Anant Ratnakar (54), a resident of Badlapur (E), Mohammad Asif Mohammad Yunus (38), a resident of Khamgaon, Buldhana.

 

The accused used to find out information about undeveloped properties from the revenue department and Google Maps and used to prepare fake Aadhaar Cards, PAN cards, voters’ ID cards and other documents of the owners and used to open bank accounts. They used to produce fake persons as the owners of the properties in the banks. They used to sell the properties based on these fake documents. Using the same system, they have got a sale deed registered at the property registration office in Mulshi (Paud).

 

The AEC cell has seized laptops, printer, scanner, machine to make fake stamps, eight mobiles, SIM cards taken under false names, fake voters’ ID cards, Aadhaar Cards, PAN cards, debit cards, bank passbook and other fake documents.

 

Mastermind Kalpesh Bohra and other property agents were involved in selling land in an illegal manner. An investigation has also revealed that they used to prepare fake documents of terrorists, land mafia to help them carry out hawala transactions. The Military Intelligence, Liaison Unit, Pune had sent a letter to the police commissioner informing about this development. The AEC cell has taken an important action based on the letter sent to the police commissioner.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including PI Ajay Waghmare, API Sandeep Padvi, PSI Vikas Jadhav, PSI Avinash Lohote, policemen Yashwant Ombase, Madhukar Tupsaundar, Aslamkhan Pathan, Sanjay Bhapkar, Ravindra Fulpagare, Hema Dhebe, Ajay Uttekar, Nitin Kamble, Rames Chaudhar, Gajanan Sonwalkar, Duryodhan Gurav, Amoal Awad, Rajendra Landge, Nitin Rawal, Vivek Jadhav, Vijay Kamble, Surendra Sable, Amar Pawar, Sandeep Kolke, Nitesh Jadhav and Shivaji Satpute under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Gajanan Tompe.
