CP Amitabh Gupta | Criminals should be scared of the police, says Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta

Pune:  NpNews24 Online   CP Amitabh Gupta |  The jurisdiction of Loni Kalbhor, Lonikand and Hadapsar police stations is spread over a large area. Due to the increasing population, urbanisation and industrialisation, the crime rate is increasing. The number of police personnel has been increased and the criminals should be scared of police officials, said Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta. He was speaking after inaugurating the Hadapsar police chowky on Thursday.

Hadapsar MLA Chetan Tupe, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Namdev Chavan, DCP Namrata Patil, ACP Bajrang Desai, Senior PI of Hadapsar police station Arvind Gokule, PI Digambar Chavan, PI Vishwas Dagle and other police personnel were present.

“The eastern part of the city is expanding and it is leading to traffic congestion. It is not sufficient that only the police should do something. Everyone should follow the rules. If the police and citizens work together, then nothing is impossible. The common man should get all the facilities provided by the administration. For this, there has to be proper communication between the citizens and the administration. For the eastern part of Pune, the proposal of setting up new police stations at Kalepadal and Fursungi would be approved soon,’’ Gupta said.

“New police stations, chowkies will be constructed and everything will be developed in a planned manner. However, it is not necessary that the officer who has developed the facilities will remain there. Hence, we should create the infrastructure and the next generation will reap its benefits. Hence, we should do good work and this will benefit the police administration and the common man,” Gupta added.

DCP Namrata Patil made the opening remarks and API Sachin Thorat was the master of ceremonies. Senior PI Arvind Gokule delivered a motion of thanks.
