Notorious criminal arrested by Pune police crime branch for possessing pistol, 3 pistols seized

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | A notorious criminal who was possessing a pistol without any licence, and who wanted to sell it, was arrested by a team of unit six of the Pune police crime branch. Three country made pistols and three live cartridges were seized from him. The action was taken by the crime branch officials on the Kesnand-Theur Road. (Pune Crime)

 

The arrested accused has been identified as Karvendra Singh Raghavendra Singh Chavan (26), a resident of Manjri Budruk, Pune and hailing from Madhya Pradesh. According to the police, a team of unit six of the crime branch was patrolling in the limits of Lonikand police station when the policemen came to know that a person was standing on the Kesnand-Theur Road and he was carrying a pistol.

 

The police laid a trap and apprehended the accused. When he was searched, a country made pistol and a cartridge was found. The police seized the goods worth Rs 30,400. During questioning in the police custody, he admitted hiding two pistols and two cartridges in his house. The police seized goods worth Rs 60,800. During the action, the police seized three pistols and three cartridges totalling Rs 91, 200. A case under the Arms Act has been filed against the accused at the Lonikand police station.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including senior PI Ganesh Mane, PSI Bhairavnath Shelke, policemen Machchindra Walke, Vitthal Khedkar, Ramesh Memane, Kanifnath Karkhele, Balasaheb Sakte, Prateek Lahigude, Hrishikesh Takwane, Hrishikesh Vyavahare, Hrishikesh Tilekar, Sachin Pawar, Shekhar Kate, Nitin Dhadge, Suhas Tambekar and Jyoti Kale under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar.
