Pune Crime News | Wanawadi police chase vehicle thieves in filmy style and arrest them, 10 vehicles seized
PUNE: Pune Crime News | Police officials and policemen of Wanawadi police station chased vehicle robbers in a filmy manner and arrested them. The Wanawadi police have arrested three vehicle thieves and seized 10 vehicles worth ₹4.65 lakh from them.
The arrested accused have been identified as Dinesh Raghunath Shinde (28), a resident of Hadapsar, Akash Tulshiram Nanvare (25), a resident of Hadapsar and Barkat Abdul Shaikh (45), a resident of Handewadi Road, On May 19, 2023, officials and policemen of Wanawadi police station were patrolling in the area and they found that the movements of two people standing near railway under bypass in Ramtekdi Industrial Area were suspicious.
When the police signalled them to stop, they tried to run away by driving their vehicle speedily. The police chased them in a filmy manner and arrested them. When the police questioned Dinesh and Akash, they admitted stealing two-wheelers from various areas. The police brought to light four crimes which had taken place in jurisdictions of Wanawadi, Kondhwa, Khadak and Sangvi police stations. Eight vehicles were seized from them.
The accused Barkat Abdul Shaikh had stolen a Yamaha motorcycle from Wanawadi area and he had used a Pulsar motorcycle. From the CCTV footage, the police located him in 24 hours and arrested him. Two vehicles were seized from him. The Wanawadi police arrested three people for stealing vehicles and seized 10 vehicles worth ₹4.65 lakh from them.
Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Vikrant Deshmukh, ACP Pornima Taware guided a team of officials including Sr PI Bhausaheb Pathare, PI Sandeep Shivle, PSI Santosh Sonavane, API Rasage, Havaldar Amajad Pathan, policemen Santosh Naik, Vinod Bhandalkar, Haridas Kadam, Atul Gaikwad, Rahul Gosavi, Sandeep Salve, Nilkanth Rathod, Vishnu Sutar, Vittal Chormale, Amol Gaikwad and policewoman Sonam Bhagat took the action. PSI Santosh Sonavane is probing the case.
