Pune Crime News | Constable rapes woman after threatening to implicate her husband, son in fake cases; Constable accuses woman of extorting ₹1 lakh by threatening to involve him in rape case
PUNE : Pune Crime News | A havaldar struck up a friendship with a woman who had gone to lodge a complaint at the chowki. Later, the havaldar frightened her that he will implicate her husband and son in fake cases and took her to various places and raped her. An FIR has been registered at the Chandan Nagar police station. The havaldar has lodged a cross compliant which states that he was threatened with a fake rape case and ₹1 lakh was extorted from him.
The accused has been identified as police constable Ashok Maddel (42), a resident of Nana Peth. Maddel is posted at Hadapsar police station. The incident took place from October 2016 to December 8, 2021. A 40-year-old woman has lodged a complaint (229/23) at the Chandan Nagar police station.
According to the police, the complainant had gone to lodge a complaint at Shivrana Pratap police chowki. Rahul Maddel was on duty. He got acquainted with the complainant and struck up a friendship with her. Later, he threatened to implicate her husband and son in fake cases and took the complainant to a lodge in Kharadi and other places and established a physical relationship with her. He also took money from time to time from the complainant. He has maligned the complainant in society. PSI Muluk is probing the case.
Aggainst this, Maddel has lodged a complaint of extortion (228/23). According to it, the police have registered an FIR against the woman, her husband and one more person. The incident took place at a settlement on January 20, 21 and May 22, 2023. The woman got acquainted with the constable and struck up a friendship. Later, she took ₹2.35 lakh from him on various occasions.
When the complainant demanded his money, the woman threatned to lodge a fake complaint of rape and malign him and took ₹1 lakh from him. Later, she lodged a complaint with the police and demanded ₹5 lakh to withdraw it. API Kamble is probing the case.
