Pune: Accused slits throat of man in Budhwar Peth; Accused arrested by Faraskhana police

PUNE: A shocking incident has taken place in Budhwar Peth, wherein a man killed the second husband of his ex-wife by slitting his throat with the help of his accomplice. The incident happened on Friday around 7.30 pm on the road near Mhasoba temple. The Faraskhana police have arrested the accused.

The deceased has been identified as Naim Akbar Shaikh. His 23-year-old wife has lodged a complaint at the Faraskhana police station. The police have arrested Rubel alias Kalam Shaidul Shaikh. An FIR has been registered against an unknown person under sections 34 and 302 of the IPC and he is absconding.

According to the police, the complainant had remarried and the deceased Naim Shaikh is her second husband. On Friday evening, the complainant was moving around the road near the Mhasoba temple. At that time, the woman’s first husband Rubel Shaikh and his accomplice came there. The accused was angry because Naim Shaikh had married the complainant. He slit Naim’s throat with a knife and killed him.

The accused ran away after committing the murder but the Faraskhana police arrested him within a couple of hours. His accomplice is absconding.
