PSI and police constable in ACB net for accepting bribe
AHMEDNAGAR : NpNews24 Online – ACB Trap On PSI Jyoti Doke | A probationary woman PSI and a constable have been arrested by the ACB for accepting a bribe of ₹8,000 for promising an accused to help to get bail as early as possible and an FIR has been registered against them. The accused have been identified as PSI (probationary) Jyoti Machchindra Doke (26), posted at MIDC police station, Ahmednagar, hailing from Srigonda taluka and currently staying at Ahmednagar and police constable (buckle number 720) Sandeep Raosaheb Khengat (46), posted at MIDC police station Ahmednagar and hailing from Ahmednagar district. FIRs of molestation and POCSO Act are registered against the complainant’s son. He has been remanded to judicial custody. PSI Jyoti Doke and police constable Sandip Khengat demanded a bribe from the complainant on April 11, 2023 by telling them that they will help in getting an early bail.
Since the complainant did not want to pay a bribe, he complained to the ACB. The complaint was verified. On April 13, 2023, police constable Sandip Khengat took the bribe as instructed by PSI Doke in the presence of panches. An FIR has been registered against both of them.
SP Sharmistha Walawalkar of Nashik region, Addl SP Narayan Nyahalde and DySP Narendra Pawar guided a team of police officials including PI Gayatri Jadhav, police constable Chandrashekhar More, police naik Prakash Mahajan and police constable driver Santosh Gangurde in taking the action.
